I remember when I was a child, my school diary had a page for absent remark. We had to write the reason for being absent. That remarks page mostly had “missed the bus” written in the reason of being absent section. 60% of the time, I missed my bus’s because the 10minutes bandwidth of my bus arrival time. My bus was supposed to arrive at 5:55 AM. But the arrival time varied from 5:50 AM to 6:10 AM and this was a regular thing. Because of this variation in time, I was late and early at the same time. Sometimes I would miss the bus because the bus came early. My question is, how was I suppose know the exact time, when was the bus early from its usual time? Sometimes I had to wait for more than 20 minutes, thinking that the bus is late.
It is Stupid, right! And annoying as well. This was a real problem. As a child, missing a day of school on a day of your turn in the assembly or a prize distribution day was a big thing. Not just that, it would have saved me from
- Missing the bus on an examination day and parents rushing to drop me to school wouldn’t be common trouble.
- The time variations of the arrival time of the bus wouldn’t have any effect on my attendance.
- There were times when the bus broke down and we had no idea why the bus getting late. Calling the administration to find out why the bus is late always gave the first reply as “let us check” or the line was busy. It was troublesome.
Only if there was a way to know a few minutes earlier of the arrival of my bus, I wouldn’t have missed those important days.
Today’s Scenario
When I was in school, the technology was not that advanced and easily available. My parents looked for a school with good results and a decent environment to grow up.
