What can make her feel safe?

Today’s blog is a bit different from any of our previous blogs. We normally focus on the benefits of our GPS trackers for any industry and users. With a composition of 35% of female employees, this makes it very much relevant for us as well and worth pointing out. Basically, suggestion what can make her feel safe.

I am a woman and I know the feeling of being unsafe. Since I was a child, I remember everyone telling me “Don’t go alone in the area, don’t stay there after dark, don’t wear such dress” Why?

I want to ask, is it any woman’s fault that she IS UNSAFE?

NO! It is not our fault. And above all, is this the right way? Is it correct to isolated a women, make her stop living the way she wants to?

So, what should be done?

Stop blaming women

Firstly, and most importantly, stop blaming women and putting the burden on their shoulders. It is NOT their mistake that they are unsafe amongst men.

Make them ready

Second, instead of isolating them from the world, make the ready for the problems out there. Talk to them since their childhood and teach them how to tackle such situations.

What can make her feel safe? Make them ready and teach self-defence

Self-defence

Third, make them strong, physically and mentally. If they are ready, they would be able to think about how to tackle such situations practically. Along with that, get them self defence lessons. When she steps out, be confident that they can handle any situation.

HIT, CALL and Escape

Fourth, be practical. Let’s face it. No human can beat up an entire group all alone. This only happens in movies. It wouldn’t matter if every woman is trained in karate, kung fu, or any kind of martial arts. Tackling a group alone wouldn’t be like you see in movies.

So girls, if self-defence training is useless at the time of need, then what?

What can make her feel safe? Fourth, be practical. Being trained for self-defence is just one part. Do defend yourself when you are attacked. You have too. But that is not enough. Remember, you need HIT, CALL and ESCAPE.

Think about how can you escape out of that situation. Not just that, anticipate the threat and call out for help immediately.

After reading the last point, you might think that if you are being attacked by someone who is trying to rape you, or suddenly blocks your way while you are walking or driving, you won’t get a chance to take out your phone to call someone. All you can do is shout. Not really!

How to call out for help?

What can make her feel safe? Call for help! How? SOS buttons are for emergencies and we put it on both portable trackers and vehicle trackers

We live in a world of technological solution for almost everything. You just need to know how to use it. SOS buttons are meant for emergencies and we put it on both portable trackers and vehicle trackers. A press of a button will call for help silently. Silence can be your most powerful weapon somethings.

The long term solution

What can make her feel safe? Every man is raised by his mother or a woman. If every woman starts teaching their boy to respect a woman's dignity, the importance of consent, will this not bring a change in the society we live in. And why just your child? Why not your brother, your cousins, your students, any male child in your life!

All the points mentioned above, are they the ultimate solution for this situation? NO, these are just ways to handle them.

In our opinion, the practice of men being unable to respect the dignity of a woman is something which is buried deep in our society. This can’t be cured in a day. Then the next question has to be about finding a cure to this sick mentality. We do have a suggestion.

Every man is raised by his mother or a woman. If every woman starts teaching their boy to respect a woman’s dignity, the importance of consent, will this not bring a change in the society we live in? And why just your child? Why not your brother, your cousins, your students, any male child in your life!

This is a long term solution. But this is a change needed in our society.

Think about it. Am I wrong?
